- Elegus Technologies Inc., one of the 10 startups that began a three-month accelerator program Techstars launched at Ford Field this month, hopes the same material that helps Kevlar stop bullets will lead to safer and more efficient lithium-ion batteries.Kevlar is a registered trademark of DuPont for a class of synthetic material called aramid fiber. The fibers are extremely strong and heat-resistant, with a range of applications that include aerospace, the military and as an asbestos substitute.
