- The San Francisco-based Thiel Foundation has awarded $100,000 to Lunar Labs, a Detroit startup and a member of last summer's first class of companies to go through the Techstars Mobility accelerator program at Ford Field. Lunar Labs, which is based in Rivertown, was known as Cosmos Labs when it was at Techstars. It was one of 29 companies to get funding in 2015 from the foundation to help take its technology to market. More than 6,000 applicants sought funding. Thiel Fellows also receive
